Description
The drama Ofrenda Desnuda / Bare Offering (Spanish with English subtitles) narrates the experiences of a Mexican immigrant in the Tijuana / San Diego border region through a multilayered plot. The main character faces problems of border crossings that range from robbers to the border crisis. This film questions the migration predicament as well as deconstructs the stereotype of Tijuana as a prostitution place. Moreover, this story reflects on the sacrifice and loss of culture by migrants from Mexico and on traditional myths. The film has adventure, passion, love, madness, murder, and is a tribute to the spectacular ritual of the Day of the Dead.
