Description
On June 24th, 2007, the Petach Tikva Pioneers hosted the Modi'in Miracle in the Inaugural Game of the new Israel Baseball League. The IBL is the dream of Boston businessman Larry Baras, a baseball fan who frequently traveled to Israel and conceived the idea of bringing the joys of America's national pastime to the people of Israel. The Commissioner is the former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Daniel C. Kurtzer and former Boston Red Sox GM Dan Duquette serves as Director of Operations.
At the helm of the Modi'in Miracle is a veteran of another miracle team - former major leaguer Art Shamsky, who played outfield and first base for the 1969 world champion "Miracle Mets." Heading up the Petach Tikva Pioneers is Ken Holtzman, the winningest Jewish pitcher in major league history who hurled two no-hitters with the Chicago Cubs.
Own a piece of history with this special collector's edition DVD, which features the entire Inaugural Game as well as interviews with some of the pioneers who helped bring hardball to the Holy Land.
