This DVD comes with a perpetual license for institutions of higher education or professional training of 1,000 or less students. The DVD may be used for classroom use and for any school-affiliated club or program with the exception of fee-based film series or screenings open to the general public. An additional Community Screening License is required for any screening that is either open to the general public or that charges admission. The license is good for one location only and is not transferrable or "loanable" to other institutions.

Educators have used the film in film studies, gender & sexuality studies, family studies, social work and sociology, political science and religious studies, among others. The film has also been used by GSAs and diversity programs.
